No Danger From Spies

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

Dear Sir:

I was appalled and disgusted upon reading a missive published in your newspaper under the hand of one Wade 'Kojo' Willians. The notion that there could be subversives working in St Vincent and Grenadines to undermine and topple the legitimately elected government of St Vincent and Grenadines is very serious and should cause grave concern not just in St Vincent and Grenadines but in the entire region.

Consequent upon reading Mr Williams' letter I telephoned some of my associates who work in the government services of Dominica and St Kitts where these operatives allegedly attempted to topple the governments in those countries. I am assured by officials in those respective territories that the information contained in Mr Williams' letter amounts to a 'hoax'.

Confidantes in the St Vincent and Grenadines Police Force have assured me that the identities of the two alleged conspirators are known to the local police and that the police are satisfied that these individuals are legitimate media consultants and that there is no cause for concern.

After 911 citizens have become vigilant. Mr Williams, a former official in the ruling regime in St Vincent and Grenadines, must be complimented for his swift action in bringing this matter to the police and I am sure that he has the gratitude of the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Poster's Note:

It may be that I misunderstand this letter, but it seems to say that the Foreign Agents who worked in Dominica and St. Kitts successfully passed themselves off as ordinary businessmen; and that the Foreign Agents in St. Vincent have convinced the police that they are media consultants, i.e., the same kind of people as those who funded the "No" campaign during the referendum.

I suspect that there is nothing to worry about if you are in favor of the NDP and something to worry about if you are in favor of the ULP. But being retired folks we are a long way from knowing what's behind any political facade.

The only thing that worries me is that if some international corporation gets the idea that they can make a profit from devastating St. Vincent and the Grenadines, there isn't much in the way of international power or justice that will stop them. So I worry every time that SVG gets noticed by an international player.
