Bay St (Near dock)
As you leave the Cruise Ship dock you will see the Ferry dock to the west. That is where you might take a ferry to Bequia or one of the other Grenadine Islands.
As you walk toward Bay Street you'll pass several vendors of crafts and other tourist items. These are the people who can't afford the rent of a botique.
This end of Bay Street is mostly business. One of the more interesting buildings was that occupied by the Arrowroot growers association, that used to be surrounded by bags of arroroot when the freighter was in dock.
It is being replaced by a new building for the National Insurance Sceme that is compatible with computers and other business machines. The architect told me it was going to preserve the style of the facade of the old building. So much for architects.
